Former Georgia congressman Max Burns is a candidate once again. A few months ago, he announced his bid for the 12th Congressional District seat. Last November, Burns lost his reelection bid to Democrat John Barrow.
Today, Burns was in the Coastal Empire joined by US House of Representatives majority whip Roy Blunt of Missouri for a tour of the Georgia Ports Authority.
Burns says showing Blunt what the ports mean to Savannah is important. "The 12th District is new and still includes Savannah and the historic district and the ports, and it is my home and I look forward to working closely with the ports in the future."
Burns took Blunt around the ports terminals and will take the majority whip on a tour of Savannah this evening.
