SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Volunteers with the American Red Cross responded to their seventh fire in the past 36 hours at Tahoe Drive.

The fire displaced 2 adults and 3 children. Red Cross volunteers responded to the scene to provide the victims with comfort hygiene kits and emergency financial assistance to replace clothing and food.

House fires are common in the winter months as people make use of things such as candles and fireplaces. The Red Cross wants to remind families to check their smoke alarm frequently and to develop and practice a fire escape plan for multiple scenarios.

You can help people affected by disasters and countless other crises by making a gift to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.
