SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Chatham County road project has met a major milestone, but it's still not completely finished.
The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Thursday that they've completed the concrete median barrier wall on the SR 204 King George Flyover, and not to mention, opened the westbound flyover Wednesday night.
We spoke with a few drivers who used to struggle through the old intersection. They say Wednesday night and Thursday morning was a completely different picture.
"I see today I had no traffic. It was like a cool breeze today coming through this morning. It was awesome and I can't wait to see what tonight's gonna look like," said Savannah resident, Kamilla McNac.
"I feel like it's gonna open up things, you know? Probably more people are going to come to this area because now the road is better, you know," said resident, Paul Getsos.
