SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It was a big night for current and past members of the Chatham Youth Commission as they held their annual reunion Thursday night.
The commission was founded by former county commissioner Priscilla Thomas 25 years ago. Every year, current students and grads come from near and far during the holidays for a celebration to share their fondest memories and inspire current students to succeed.
Alderman Van Johnson has been the advisor for decades and says he didn't expect it to reach the heights that it has.
"Who would have thought we have now graduates right here from Savannah-Chatham County," Alderman Johnson said.
Chatham County Youth Commission is a pilot program for many other programs around the nation.
