Homemade Bomb Found in Dead Man's Apartment

A mysterious death leads police to a bizarre discovery in Statesboro. They found a homemade bomb in the dead man's apartment on Lanier Drive.

Early yesterday morning, a man came home and found his roommate unconscious. He rushed him to the hospital, where they declared him dead.

Chief Stan York of the Statesboro Police Department described the device. "The device was the size of a small baseball wrapped in duct tape. It wouldn't not have done any major damage to the apartment, we believe, after looking at it."

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Carl Wright. An autopsy this morning showed no signs of foul play. His roommate tells police Wright had been taking large amounts of medication.
