Beloved CBS46 anchor Amanda Davis laid to rest Wednesday

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Hundreds gathered to say goodbye to Amanda Davis Wednesday during her funeral at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta. Davis died after suffering a massive spontaneous stroke at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport last week.

Amanda was at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on December 27 when she was rushed to the hospital and underwent treatment.

Several dignitaries were on hand to say their farewells, including civil rights icon Andrew Young and his wife Carolyn. CBS46's Paul Ossmann also shared his memories during the service, which was viewed by tens of thousands online.

CBS46 was also in attendance Tuesday night for a special memorial ceremony for Amanda. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and several of her sisters were on hand for a public viewing.
