Classes are still a few days away, but today was moving day for thousands of college students. Four thousand Georgia Southern University students will live on campus this year, the largest number in the school's history. As part of Operation Move-in, faculty and student volunteers helped families get their belongings inside.
"I think it's encouraging to students that this is a welcoming environment and there are people that care they are here," said volunteer Rev. Danny Groover.
GSU's newest residence hall, Eagle Villas, is also its largest, with enough rooms for 770 students. It is also the university's first freshman-only building.
Classes start Monday morning.
