WTOC has new information about the driver involved in a Savannah carjacking that ended in a deadly crash Thursday night. Marcus Mack has been upgraded to fair condition at Memorial Health University.
Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police say Mack smashed into a Ford Explorer around 10 p.m. Thursday at Ash and Anderson Streets. Officer say Mack was running from them with the brand new red Honda Civic he carjacked the day before. A passenger in the car, Jermaine Simmons, died from his injuries Friday morning. Three people in the Ford Explorer were treated and released from the hospital.
Once he's released from the hospital, Mack faces several charges for vehicular homicide, armed robbery, theft, as well as charges for drugs and a handgun that were found inside the car.
The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the 600 block of Yamacraw Village. Non-life-threatening injuries are reported.More >>
