A suspected carjacker is now out of the hospital and in jail. Marcus Mack is charged with felony kidnapping theft by taking and armed robbery.
Police say Mack crashed a stolen red Honda into a Ford Explorer last Thursday at the intersection of Anderson and Ash Streets in Savannah. Mack's passenger, Jermaine Simmons, died from injuries sustained in that crash.
No one in the Explorer was seriously hurt.
Once the carjacking investigation is wrapped up, police say they plan to charge Mack with the death of Simmons.
