Even though a lot of the daily reports coming out of Iraq concern those we have lost, not all the news is bad. This morning, WTOC spoke with Maj. Dan Kuntz of the Third Infantry Division's 4th Brigade live from Baghdad via satellite. As he spoke of all the Third ID's accomplishments, little did he know he'd also be talking to his wife Brenda on live TV.

Day in and day out, people like Brenda Kuntz wait for their loved ones to return home. "It's very difficult, every day not knowing," she said. "All you can do is hope they return."

This morning, Brenda got the rare opportunity to speak to her husband via satellite. "He really doesn't have any knowledge about this, so this is great," she said.

As our Mike Cihla interviewed her husband, the 4th Brigade's signal officer, live on our morning show THE News First Report about his brigades current condition, Brenda waited in silence.

After Maj. Kuntz finished talking about his troops, Mike let him in on our little surprise, that his wife and his two-month-old son Nathan were standing by live in Hinesville.

Although the live interview only lasted a few minutes, Brenda says those few minutes will help make those long days seem shorter.

"It makes these next five months worth getting through," she said. "It's good to see him."

The Third Infantry Division is scheduled to come home in the early part of next year.
