There's a helping hand for some kids heading back to school. Saint Joseph's/Candler's Angels of Mercy delivered truckloads of goodies to Savannah's Garrison Elementary today. There's a backpack and school supplies for every kid.
"There should be no barriers now," said Ronnie Jones of the Angels of Mercy. "They have the supplies they need to go to school, to learn, and to hold their head high with respect. This is very overwhelming."
They're also donating supplies to the Saint Mary's Community Center in the Cuyler-Brownsville neighborhood.
The Angels are making the donations in honor of the late Danny Brown and Gail Jones, Saint Joseph's/Candler employees who wanted to make sure all kids had the school supplies they need.
