Hospice Seeks Home for Dog

Hospice Savannah is trying to grant a dying man's wish. Eight-year-old dog Heidi's owner was in hospice with a terminal illness. And through his last days, his main concern was finding a good home for Heidi.

"We made a promise to Heidi's dad," said the hospice's Suzanne Cole Wages yesterday. "He died this morning peacefully. That's what we do here is fulfill promises at Hospice Savannah"

Heidi's an Akita mix, well trained and very friendly. But she's all alone now and needs a loving family. If you can help, call Hospice Savannah at 355.2289.
