If you drive any where near Hutchinson Island, you can't miss the development that's going on. After years of negotiations and planning, Savannah Harbor is beginning to take shape. Roads and other infrastructure are almost complete in an area known as the Reserve, which will eventually have 940 homes. A new fire station, hotel and marina will also be under construction soon.
"We've approved some plans for town homes that are very nice," said project director John McClesky. "They'll be starting probably before the end of the year and you'll see residences by next year."
The other side of Hutchinson Island across from the Westin is also going to be developed. McClesky says all the development on the island will be compatible, so it is an attractive place to live.
