Miller Honored for Economic Development Work

There's some special recognition for a man who goes out of his way to support and promote coastal Georgia.

Chris Miller heads up the Creative Coast Initiative. It's an organization dedicated to attracting high-tech business to the area. Miller has devoted a lot of time over the last couple years to spreading the word about the attractive lifestyle, infrastructure and educational opportunities in and around Savannah.

His efforts have helped create new jobs in the high-paying technology sector.

"Those type jobs which can be located anywhere would choose Savannah if we got the word out," said Rick Winger of the Savannah Economic Development Authority, which was involved in launching the Creative Coast Initiative. "So Chris has been probably more instrumental than any one person in explaining that to the world."

Now Miller is being honored with the annual Georgia LINK Award, which goes to people who promote the growth of technology business in Georgia. He'll travel to Atlanta to accept the award August 30.
