The Chatham Emergency Management Agency held a news conference this afternoon to announced that CEMA will be the focal point for any questions when it comes to Hurricane Katrina. They are asking everyone to call them at 912.201.4500 for information on volunteering, local shelter information, donations and of course price gouging--especially for gasoline--which seems to be a worsening problem.
"Next Thursday we are holding hearing to see if there was any price gauging, because we want to get to the bottom of that as soon as possible," said US Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA Dist 1).
Congressman Kingston added there will be stiff penalties for those businesses that are price gouging.
