Kiwanis Rodeo being held in Statesboro this weekend

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Horses and cowboys will make Statesboro the place to be this weekend, with one member of the team already in town.

Miss Rodeo UDA Summer Weldon is in town checking out places like Georgia Southern's Wildlife Center. The rodeo will arrive soon to host thousands of visitors this Friday and Saturday at the Kiwanis Fairground. The Kiwanis Club uses the proceeds to help a range of charities across Bulloch County.

Weldon says the Kiwanis Rodeo has been successful with a simple formula.

"Rodeo is great because it's good, clean family fun," Weldon said. "There's something for everybody. I know the community really enjoys it, and it's great for me to see people who wait all year long for a rodeo."

Weldon travels the country promoting rodeos. The gates will open Friday night at 5 p.m.
