PEMBROKE, GA (WTOC) - Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash along Highway 280 in Bryan County early Thursday morning.
A Bryan County Sheriff's deputy tells us the wreck occurred around 3 a.m. A van and a sedan were both traveling east on Hwy 280 near C.C. Road (mm-13), when one of the vehicles lost control, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway and crash into the wood-line.
Each vehicle ended up on opposite sides of the highway. One of the vehicles struck a utility pole, bringing down power lines.
Officials say one person was transported to an area hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
There is no road blockage at this time. However, officers at the scene say crews will be back out around 7 a.m. to retrieve the wrecked vehicles and repair the damaged power lines.
Motorist are encouraged to use caution if traveling in the area Thursday morning until the wreckage is completely cleared.
The Bryan County Sheriff's Office, Bryan County Emergency Services, Canoochee EMC, and the Georgia State Patrol all responded.
The Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation to determine exactly what caused the crash.
