Officer, drunk driver injured during high-speed chase in Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, GA (CBS46) -

An Alpharetta Police officer and a suspected drunk driver were both injured during a high speed chase Friday night.

The chase, which reached speeds of up to 140 miles per hour, began on Georgia 400 around 2 a.m. and ended in a crash on Crabapple Road near the intersection of Rucker Road.

The officer and suspect, later identified as 49 year-old John Bollin, were taken to an area hospital following the crash.

The officer was treated for minor injuries and released a few hours later. Bollin was taken to the Fulton County Jail and is facing several charges, including reckless driving.
