Savannah's Earth Day in Forsyth Park draws large crowds

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's Earth Day festival in Forsyth Park on Saturday brought people out for the city's largest environmental outreach event of the year.

The Savannah Chatham Sustainability Coalition is producing this event for the first time with a theme of zero waste. Many sponsors and people were there to share their clean-eating and energy efficient tactics.

"This parabola is concentrating sunlight," said Wes Jackson, an earth day attendee. "Produce 1600 degrees at the top."

The festival aimed to raise awareness about plastic use and encouraged people to safely toss electronic items.
