RICHMOND HILL, GA (WTOC) - Chris Arnold of Richmond Hill is on a mission to inspire others, one swing at a time.
Arnold will be one of four hitters teeing up in the ParaLong Drive Exhibition at the World Long Drive Association's "Clash in the Canyon" in Mesquite, NV on Tuesday, April 24.
"It's going to be cool to raise awareness, hopefully inspire some other amputees, and just get some exposure on the mainstream that amputees can hit the ball far too," said Chris Arnold.
Arnold, a University of Georgia graduate, had his right foot amputated after an accident in December 2014. He refused to let the injury hold him back.
"I'm looking forward to hitting on the same tee box with other top amputees and the premier men and women in the professional long drive," said Arnold. "I certainly wouldn't be able to do this without my faith in God, my family and all of my loved ones and friends who always continue to motivate and inspire me. I hope this competition will help inspire other amputees that life is not over just because of an amputation and if you put your mind to doing something, you can."
The ParaLong Drive Exhibition is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. - Noon PDT. You can stay up-to-date on all of the "Clash in the Canyon" action by following @WorldLongDrive on social media.
