SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - If you're looking for a way to grow your business or just simply learn something new, you'll want to be a part of the Grow with Google event on Wednesday, April 25.
Google is bringing its resources to those living in the Coastal Empire. Tech and business experts will be on-hand to help people further their digital and business skills.
Grow with Google is for students, teachers, job seekers, small business owners, or anyone who wants to learn a new skill. It is a free one-day event where people can connect with Google staff to improve their digital skills. It's the technology company's most recent initiative to help create economic opportunities for Americans.
For example, let's say you're a small business owner who wants your company to have a better online presence. This event will help you learn about the techniques to make sure your company is available to the millions of people, or potential customers, who surf the web daily.
The tour is traveling all across the country and organizers say they had to make a stop in Savannah.
"It's a wonderful place to do business. It's nationally ranked for small business. And with incredible tourism, with over 13 million people a year coming through, it's a perfect spot, especially because it's a collaborative community here. There's nonprofits, the city, and county who already teaching people digital skills, so it made perfect sense for us to come to Savannah,"
Grow with Google will take place at Service Brewing Company (574 Indian St, Savannah, GA 31401). Service Brewing was chosen as the event space, because the company used the internet to help create and promote the brewery.
"It was just really appropriate for us to have this event at Service Brewing, which is a company that has used Google to great success to help us grow," Service Brewing Co-founder Kevin Ryan said.
From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Googlers will help those who want to grow their business, and then from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., they will discuss ways to improve your digital skills. The afternoon session will include
