BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

The Bluffton High School Readers Club is passing on their love for reading with students at Bluffton Elementary School.

The club reads to students for about 45 minutes one day a week as a way to give back to the community. Teachers say the program helps prepare kids for the future, and the kids just love hearing the stories.

"It's just kind of fun that they read to us. I like it. It's fun," said Noah DeBrabander, 1st Grade, Bluffton Elementary School.

"The students, you know, they are starting to love to learn to read but also learn from their reading, and it's really helped them go to their next level and see how reading can affect you throughout your academic career," said Sarah Hankey, 1st Grade Teacher, Bluffton Elementary School.

About 25 high school students are in the Bluffton High School Readers Club.
