SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Don Logana is still having an impact on multiple sclerosis research.
Our colleague at WTOC was a tireless fundraiser for the disease, and leading up to the second MS Walk since Don's passing, his friends are raising money in his name.
With glasses raised and dogs mingling with people, a friend to so many in Savannah was still being remembered. Wine and Woofs brought together several things Don Logana loved. It was people and their pets having a good time and doing it to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research.
Proceeds from the event at Woof Gang Bakery's Bull Street store will go to Team Don Logana - always one of the most productive for the MS Walk.
"This is one way we can stay connected with Don,'' said Tony Rahn, a close friend of Don's who is now co-chairing Team Don Logana for the MS Walk. "He was one of our best friends and we know this is something he was very passionate about, so we wanted to keep this going in his name."
Don usually was the biggest fundraiser for the MS campaign in Savannah, often raising more than anyone in the state, ss his friends are keeping his spirit and his efforts for MS alive.
"Last year,'' Rahn said, "we did several different events and we thought that it would be great to have a pet-friendly, kid-friendly one to get as many people as we could to raise money in Don's memory.'' "
"We'll continue to promote the Facebook page. You can make a donation there,'' added Courtney Rawlins, also a co-chair of Team Don Logana. "We just want to keep this going in Don's name.''
