TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - The 10th annual Tybee Wine Fest is officially underway.
The three-day festival runs April 26-28 and offers an array of wine and local food. The festivities kicked off on Thursday night and will continue through Saturday.
This year, the festival is premiering two new events. Thursday night, those on the island got to enjoy Wine & Dine at the Shrine. This was a gourmet dining experience that included appetizers, cocktails, and a three-course meal.
And on Friday, the Tybee Post Pickin and Shuckin with Bubbles & Beer is being held on the Tybee Post Theater lawn. There will be oysters, a pig, pulled pork and brisket with all the fixins, and all things bubbles and beer. This event is sold out, but you still have time to get your tickets for Saturday's Grand Wine Tasting at the Tybee Light Station, which is the festival's main event. Organizers say this year's Grand Wine Tasting will feature more than 100 international wines and different foods from several area restaurants.
In addition, the Jimmy Buffett tribute band Sons of Sailors will take the stage and perform for festival-goers. The Grand Wine Tasting event will be Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $60.
