Judge denies CSX motion for new trial in Sarah Jones case

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Chatham County judge has denied a motion for a new trial in the death of a woman killed on a movie set in Jesup.

Sarah Jones was hit and killed by a train during the filming of the movie "Midnight Rider" in 2014.

CSX wanted the new trial, but a judge denied the request this week.

During the civil trial in July, the jury ruled that CSX has paid roughly $3.9 million to the Jones family.
