'Armed and extremely dangerous' man involved in Savannah motel robbery turns self in

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - UPDATE: Darryl Morgan has turned himself into Chatham County Police Department early on Monday afternoon.

Chatham County Police are looking for a man that they are calling armed and dangerous after a Saturday night robbery at the Day's Inn Suites at Gateway Boulevard.

Officers arrived at the motel after receiving a call for an armed robbery. An upset and clearly injured victim identified Darryl Morgan as the suspect, saying that Morgan held her at knifepoint.

A United States Marine heard the screams of the victim from the front of the motel and ran to her aid, pulling her out of Morgan's grasp. Morgan was able to take $400 from the cash register.

Morgan is a 51-year-old black male and was last seen wearing a purple shirt and blue jeans. He left in a white Ford Ranger with an unidentifiable white male driver.

Morgan is known to visit the areas of Highway 204, Fort Argyle, and I-95.
