SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Members of the community gathered at the Bacon Park Golf Course Monday morning to raise money for charity while having a little fun.

The Savannah Professional Firefighters Association hosted the Great Balls of Fire Charity Tournament. All the money raised will go to the St. Joseph's Candler Telfair Mammography Fund. The mammography fund helps underserved women in the area.

This is the sixth annual charity golf tournament. For the past five years, they have been able to donate over $20,000 to the fund.

"And it makes such a difference in our own community. You'd be very surprised that it may be the little old lady living next door that you never knew might be struggling and unable to pay for her own insurance because she sacrifices to pay for her own children," said Lora Reese, Director of Mammography Services.

There were firefighters from all over the region and numerous members of our business community playing in Monday's tournament.
