Hwy 21 closures, detours in place due to military plane crash investigation

PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) - A portion of GA-21 near the airport in West Chatham County is closed indefinitely following the deadly C-130 military cargo plane crash Wednesday morning.

Those that normally travel Hwy 21 will not be able to do so for some time due to the crash investigation that's currently underway in Port Wentworth.

The closure of Crossgate-Gulfstream Road continues.

The following notice was sent to Gulfstream employees Wednesday afternoon:

Employees can access the main entrance from Airways Avenue by showing their Gulfstream or Flight Safety ID to officers responding to the military aircraft crash. Second-shift G650 employees should park in the North lot and walk across the ramp. To leave the East lot, turn left on Robert B. Miller Road and left on Gulfstream Road. Traffic leaving the West and North lots can only turn left on Gulfstream Road.
