United Way hosts 'Women Who Rule' luncheon in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The United Way of the Coastal Empire hosted its annual 'Women Who Rule' luncheon at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa, Thursday afternoon.

The luncheon celebrates the power of women with lunch and lively discussions with inspiring female leaders, visionaries, and role models, and raises money for a good cause.

"Today is about getting women together to support women in need. We are raising money for transportation, bus passes, taxi vouchers, minor repair for women and children, and children in need," said Julie Wade, Chair, Women United.

The moderator of this year's panel was Chatham County District Attorney Meg Heap. The 2018 Woman of the Year award was presented to Connie Farmer Ray - retired CEO and Founder of Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners.
