Crews battling brush fire in Richmond Hill

BRYAN CO., GA (WTOC) - Fire crews battled a brush fire off Belfast Keller Road in Bryan County, Thursday night.

Officials say a couple hundred acres of forest is on fire. Several crews have been called in to help battle the blaze

"There are four or five bulldozers from the forestry department, and we have air support from the forestry department. It's pretty thick back there. so basically what they've got to do is get around it and make sure they get it under control," said Deputy Chief Mike Dick, Bryan County Fire and Emergency Services.

There's no official word on what exactly started the fire, but emergency responders suspect it might have started by sparks from a nearby train.
