SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - More direct flights are now being offered at the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport.
Flights to Denver and Philadephia are the new additions. The first flight in from Denver landed on Friday. Passengers were greeted with a celebration and a ribbon cutting.
Frontier employees, airport staff, and local officials were all there to celebrate. As soon as the plane was ready, passengers loaded up on the same plane for the first direct flight from Savannah to Denver.
The company tells WTOC their low fares approach allows more people to fly more often.
"It's huge for this community. We think you can really benefit from the type of service that we offer and we are hoping that people will show us that by filling up our plans and the more people who fill up our planes, that actually puts pressure on us and sends a signal like, 'hey, maybe there are even more places we can fly from Savannah Hilton Head," said Jonathan Freed, Director, Corporate Communications.
Fares for the flights to Denver and Philadelphia can be as low as $49.
