Southeast Bulloch is headed to the GHSA Class AAA quarterfinals after a thrilling 11-10 Game 3 win over Worth County Friday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets trailed 4-0 after the first inning, but rallied all the way back to tie the game at 10.
In the 7th, Blaize Minick delivered the game-winner with an RBI single to left center that brought home Tyler Bailey for the winning run.
SEB will be back home in Brooklet for the Elite Eight. The Yellow Jackets will host Lovett with a doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday, May 9.
Grovetown 9, Effingham Co. 3
The Effingham County Rebels saw their season come to a close in the second round Friday, dropping a 9-3 decision to Grovetown in Game 3.
The Rebels had a chance to slice into the Warrior lead in the fourth. Trailing 5-2 with the bases loaded, JR Lonon slapped one up the middle, but a sliding stop behind second and excellent throw to first from James Eckert got him by a step to end the inning.
The Warriors broke the game open in the bottom of the 4th, scoring three more runs on a pair of RBI doubles from Eckert and Camrin Dunbar.
Ola 8, Wayne Co. 2
Wayne County's run back to the state championship ended short Friday.
Ola took Game 3, 8-2, Friday afternoon in Jesup. The Mustangs scored in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd innings to take the lead for good.
