SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The annual Multiple Sclerosis walk was held on Saturday morning in Daffin Park.
The walk benefits the Georgia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Their programs help people with MS get the resources they need. WTOC honored the memory of our longtime morning anchor and friend Don Logana. He worked endlessly to raise money for the walk MS event each year. MS was a cause that was near and dear to him because his sister Kimberly was diagnosed with it. Organizers say the money raised gets them one step closer to finding a cure.
"The MS Society is on a movement," said Lisa Dyson a volunteer with the National MS Society. "We are on a movement to end MS so nobody else is disabled or passes away from complications from multiple sclerosis. We are all about raising money. We are all about providing services for those who suffer from MS, and we are on a movement to find a cure."
The society will continue collecting donations until June 30. If you would like to donate, click here.
