STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - A Statesboro student joking about bringing a gun to school is now facing some very serious charges.

The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office says a 13-year-old 7th grader at William James Middle School told another student he should not come to school Wednesday because he was going to "shoot up the school."

The student admitted to deputies that he was only joking. That teen is now charged with one count of terroristic threats and one count of disruption of public school.
