CAMDEN CO., GA (WTOC) - Authorities from the Camden County Sheriff's Office captured a man and woman Wednesday after the man opened fire on a deputy and fled in a high-speed chase.
Tyler Lee Rogers, 23, from Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Angel Ann Shuqart, 20, from Catawba, South Carolina, fled in a silver Infinity from a deputy after he attempted to stop them around 10:40 a.m. Rogers reached 100 mph as he fled and fired a pistol at the deputy's vehicle.
After waving and firing a pistol, Roger's threw two firearms out of the vehicle. He also tossed a plastic bag and blue container that contained methamphetamines.
The sheriff's office used spike strips to puncture the suspects' tires.
Rogers was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement and affixing a tag with intent to conceal the identity of a vehicle.
Shuqart was charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony.
Both are detained in the Camden County Jail.
