PRINCE AVENUE CHRISTIAN 2, SAVANNAH CHRISTIAN 1 (Prince Avenue wins series 2-1)
The Raiders had plenty of chances. They just couldn't convert them.
Savannah Christian's state title defense came to an end in the state quarterfinals after dropping Thursday's Game 3, 2-1, to Prince Avenue Christian.
The Wolverines scored both of their runs in the first inning before the Raiders bounced back with a tally of their own in the bottom half. That would be the last of the scoring.
Savannah Christian was able to put runners in scoring position often, but was never able to push them across the plate to tie the game.
Jarrett Brown drove in the Raiders' only run of the game when Justin Anderson scored on his groundout to short.
LOVETT 4, SOUTHEAST BULLOCH 2 (Lovett wins series 2-1)
Southeast Bulloch contained the Lovett offense, but mistakes were the Yellow Jackets' undoing in Thursday's Game 3.
Lovett scored three of their four runs on passed balls, including the go-ahead and insurance runs in back-to-back at-bats in the bottom of the 6th inning.
SEB rallied from one run deficits twice to tie the game, but was unable to put together a final comeback after Lovett took the late lead.
Toby Williams drove in SEB's first run of the game with an RBI single over shortstop in the 4th. Tyler Deloach scored an inning later on a Lion error.
