LONG CO., GA (WTOC) - A home in Long County was heavily damaged by fire Thursday night.

It happened in the 100 block of Shayna Drive. The home was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived around 11 p.m. A man, woman, and two children living there made it out safely. The homeowner says the fire started on the stove in the kitchen. They called 911 as the flames quickly spread through the house.

The fire is out. No injuries were reported but the home is a total loss. The American Red Cross has been notified and is providing assistance to the family.

Long/Ludowici Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Liberty County Fire, Walthourville Fire Department, Long State Prison Fire Team, Long County Sheriff's Office and Excelsior EMS all responded to the scene and assisted.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
