GLENNVILLE, GA (WTOC) - The 42nd annual Glennville Sweet Onion Festival is set for this Saturday, May 12.
This is one of Glennville's biggest events, drawing over 6,000 people each year. The festival offers a day full of all kinds of activities and events to celebrates the harvesting of the famous Vidalia Sweet Onion crop.
Some of this weekend events include a pageant, a Sweet Onion Run, a World Championship Turtle Race, and of course, plenty of great foods, arts and crafts, and a big parade.
The parade of floats steps off Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
Festival gates open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the State Farmers Market. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children, and children under 2 get in free. Military members also get in free with a military ID.
