SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Women bicyclists got together on Sunday to celebrate the fifth annual Savannah CycloFemme, part of National Bike Month.
The group left for the 6-mile ride from the Savannah Bicycle Campaign headquarters on Lincoln Street. Participants were encouraged to donate to World Bicycle Relief. The organization gives bikes back to underprivileged people.
"With a bike like these, girls are able to now get to school, go from home to school faster so they're able to keep and retain their education," said Caila Brown with the Savannah Bike Campaign. "It just makes a huge difference in their life to be able to do that."
Later this week, they're encouraging folks to bike to work Friday for bike to work day. They'll have snacks outside their building. They'll also have a cycle social on May 31st.
