EMANUEL CO., GA (WTOC) - The Georgia State Patrol along with the Oak Park Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash that resulted in a fire on U.S. 1 in Emanuel County Tuesday morning.

It happened on U.S. 1, just south of I-16 going towards Oak Park. Officials say a Dodge 3500 car hauler failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a semi truck in the gas tank. The semi caught fire and is a total loss. Thankfully, no one was injured.

A man who lives about a quarter-mile from the scene tells WTOC there was a loud explosion - enough to shake his apartment and even make a picture fall off the wall.

The scene has since cleared.

The driver of the Dodge was cited for not stopping.
