Some of the biggest names in college football will be taking their talents to the Low Country this weekend.
Georgia's Richard LeCounte, Clemson's Hunter Renfrow, and South Carolina's Bryson Allen-Williams are just three of the stars that will be staff members at the 2018 All-American Football Camp at Hilton Head Island High School beginning Friday night.
HHI head football coach BJ Payne has organized the camp for years, and says the players enjoy the week just as much of the campers.
"“It’s a chance for them to give back and work with young kids. That’s the thing. They truly love coming here," Payne says. "Many of them say it’s the favorite camp they’ve ever worked. It’s something that they keep with them forever, and they always want to get back.”
Georgia RB D'Andre Swift, Clemson DE Christian Wilkins, Ohio State running backs J.K. Weber and Mike Dobbins, and Louisville WR Jaylen Smith will all be on the staff as well. Payne says former Liberty County and Ohio State star Raekwon McMillan will also take some time from the Miami Dolphins to work the camp.
The All-American Football Camp begins Friday night and runs through Sunday afternoon. Registration is $125, and is available to all students currently in K-8th grade. Walk-up registration is available, but pre-registering is preferred.
Campers can pre-register for camp at http://www.islandreccenter.org, or can register the day of camp beginning at 4:00 p.m.
