SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Parker's presented a check on Wednesday to the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System as part of the company's Fueling the Community charitable initiative.
The check for $22,000 was given during a ceremony at the Godley Station School. The money comes from the Fueling the Community Initiative, which donates a portion of all gas sold on the first Wednesday of each month to area schools.
"The cool thing about it is, if you have the pump pal card, you can designate what school gets that money," said Greg Parker, CEO, Parker's. "So, it's fun for us, and we feel like we should give back to the communities where we do business, and this allows us to have a touch point at every community where we do business."
Parker's has donated more than $100,000 to schools throughout Coastal Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry, this school year alone.
