2 hospitalized after double shooting in downtown Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah Police are investigating a double shooting that took place in downtown Savannah, Wednesday afternoon.

It happened in the Frazier Homes community off of MLK. Police say they were patrolling in the area when they got the call. When they got there, they found one person shot. Not too long after, police got a call of another shooting victim on Waters Avenue and Victory Drive, near Daffin Park. Officials say the two incidents are related. They believe the second victim got away from the scene at Frazier Homes, but they're working to confirm that.

Both victims were transported to Memorial. We do not yet know the extent of their injuries.

We spoke with the president of the Neighborhood Association for Public Housing, who says the worst sight was children watching all the violence unfold.

"All children should be in the house getting prepared for school the next day. Not outside watching the police so they can have a story to take back to class tomorrow," said Tia Brightwell, Public Housing Neighborhood Association, President. "This tape does not mean anything positive. It means negative, and our children don't need to keep seeing it."

Police are not releasing much information at this time, but we will continue to follow this story and bring you any updates.
