SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Folks involved in the leadership of southeast Georgia graduated on Saturday.
This is a culmination of different programs throughout the region over 5 months.
The program itself helps make business leaders more well-rounded of what's going on in every 10 counties in the Southeast. One organizer says the goal is to create a network of leadership, advance business interest, political goals, and address issues relevant throughout the region.
"When people know each other, they can reach out to each other for support, for help, they can advocate for each other," says Brynn Grant. "We have seen as a result of this class, life-long friendships formed, we've seen people get elected to political office with a support of friends and allies that they've made through this effort."
Among those who graduated was WTOC's very own Dawn Baker. Grant says the value of this program and connection is to focus on education, natural resources, economic development and community development.
