BRYAN CO., GA (WTOC) - Democrat Lisa Ring says she is "excited, energized and ready to go" after a resounding victory in her party's primary for Georgia's District 1 seat in the U.S. Congress.
She will face incumbent Republican Rep. Buddy Carter in November .
Ring defeated fellow Democrat Barbara Seidman by 36 percentage points.
"Some of the issues I find most important are medicare for all, healthcare for all, workers rights and a living wage - because we have people who are working full-time jobs and sometimes two jobs and still can't pay their bills - and veterans issues and military families because we live in a district that has four military bases and 75,000 veterans, and they're not being served ," Ring said.
