POOLER, GA (WTOC) - Dive crews were called out to Pooler Tuesday morning to help get an SUV out of a pond after it hydroplaned off the roadway.
Police say a man and woman were traveling southbound on Benton Boulevard near the Capital Crest Subdivision when the male driver hydroplaned and went off the roadway, landing in a pond. The SUV became submerged but the occupants were able to make it onto the roof of the vehicle where rescue crews pulled them to safety.
No injuries were reported and the SUV has been removed from the pond.
Savannah Police are investigating.
