SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - If you've driven down Drayton Street in the downtown Historic District anytime in the last few weeks, you've probably noticed a project that's been years in the making is finally complete, the Perry Lane Hotel.
The team behind this beautiful new property wants to bring a new level of luxury to not only tourists, but more importantly, the people who call this city home.
WTOC got an exclusive tour of the new hotel, which includes 167 guest rooms, four food and beverage outlets, and a rooftop swimming pool. This includes an Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market, The Wayward Bar, and Peregrin Rooftop Pool & Bar.
Flank is the developer, and the New York based company teamed up with Savannah heavyweights Hansen Architects and DPR Construction for the project. While some may wonder why a new hotel could have any impact on locals, the developer tells us they want to be more than just a hotel, they want to ensure everyone who lives in the area feels welcome to come be a part of the experience.
"We've been embraced with open arms and this town is such a beautiful place with beautiful people that are so diverse. I think it's very much geared towards local sensibility. Its particular location is on the border of a very residential district and look and feel. This is a walking town and everyone can come and explore the different outlets very easily," said Jon Kully, Managing partner, Flank.
The ribbon cutting is Friday at 10 a.m., and from that moment on, the much-anticipated rooftop bar, Peregrin, is open to the public at 11 a.m. daily. To learn more about the Perry Lane Hotel, click here.
