SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Residents of Mercy Housing aged 62 and older enjoyed a trip over to Alfred Ely Beach High School to get their dance on.

This is the second year of this event with this years theme as Mardis Gras Masquerade. Many people got the chance to experience great food, dancing and plenty of fun.

"It's exciting cause you know a lot of time we get older, we tend to sit back, relax and rest and think like we can't go have fun like we used to," said Rosa McQueen Sutton, who attended the dance. "But I'm not that one. I love to go out, I love to dance, I love to have a good time, especially with people my age."

Rosa says she never got the chance to have a high school prom, so Saturday was a special day for her.
