BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) - Even though the school year is over, Beaufort County Schools are taking measures to make sure their students stay well fed and well educated.
The district is sending its Lowcountry Cruzer food truck into the community to serve lunches to students in need of a meal. Lunch will be served weekdays through July 20. The food truck will stop at three Beaufort County libraries throughout the summer - something that serves another purpose for the students.
"So, it's really great for the kids to come to the library because it's kids that don't necessarily come every day, so they get belly food and brain food," said Madeline Helser-Howard."
The Lowcountry Cruzer will stop at St. Helena Library at 10:45 before heading to the Beaufort Branch at noon at the Lobeco Library at 1:30.
