HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - Needy children in Hinesville will have a better lunch throughout the summer, thanks to a big collection.
The Hinesville Rotary Club and the Downtown Development Authority spent the past month collecting jars of peanut butter and jelly. They wrapped up Thursday with nearly 3,000 jars. They'll give it all to The Mana House - a food bank that fixes lunches for kids in the summer.
"Our local food bank's numbers spike in the summer when kids are out of school and don't have access to meals in the summer," said Michelle Ricketson, Hinesville Rotary Club.
You still have time to donate. Donations can be taken to The Mana House or to City Hall.
